What were the social, economic, and political conditions in Russia before 1905?

Q1. What were the social, economic, and political conditions in Russia before 1905?

Prior to 1905, Russia’s social, economic, and political situation was relatively underdeveloped. Among the working class, social inequality was heavily present. Workers were classified according to their occupation. Workers whose employment required competence and training saw themselves as superior to unskilled workers. Workers had strong ties to the communities from whence they came, which contributed to a social division among them.

Russia was going through a terrible economic moment. The population had increased, and economic circumstances had deteriorated further. The government implemented new industrialization programmes, which resulted in job creation. Industrialization did not benefit exploited labourers; in fact, their living circumstances deteriorated.

In comparison to other European countries in the thirteenth century, Russia was politically undeveloped. Prior to 1914, all political parties were prohibited in Russia. The Socialist Revolutionary Party of Russia was founded in 1900 by Russian peasants, but since they were not a cooperative party, they were not regarded to be part of a socialist movement.
