Standard Operating Procedure: Admission and Enrollment Procedures at School
Objective:
The objective of this Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is to establish guidelines for the admission and enrollment procedures at Step Up School, ensuring a friendly and transparent process for parents and prospective students.
Scope:
This SOP applies to all staff members involved in the admission and enrollment process at Step Up School. It encompasses all grades of the school.
Responsibilities:
- Admission and Enrollment Staff: Responsible for implementing and following the procedures outlined in this SOP.
- Front Office Manager: Accountable for overseeing the admission and enrollment process, ensuring compliance with the SOP.
Procedure:
Enquiry Form Submission:
- a. Parents interested in admission should visit the school and fill out the enquiry form. The form will require details of the child and parents.
- b. Parents are advised to fill out only one enquiry form per applicant.
First Come First Serve Basis:
- Admissions will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
Informal Interaction for Nursery, KG, and Prep:
- a. For grades Nursery, KG, and Prep, parents and the child will have an informal interaction with the teacher and the Principal.
- b. The purpose of the interaction is to assess the child’s readiness for admission.
Written Entrance Test for Grades I and Above:
- a. For grades I and above, admission will be based on a written entrance test.
- b. The date and time for the entrance test will be communicated to the parents.
Final Admission Decision:
- a. The final decision regarding admission and the grade in which the child will be enrolled will be made by the school, based on the test/interaction results.
- b. The school’s decision is final and binding.
Registration Fee Submission:
- a. Parents are required to submit the registration fee before the interaction/entrance test.
- b. It is important to note that the registration fee is non-refundable and needs to be paid only once.
Document Submission:
- Parents should submit the following documents within 15 days of paying the registration charges. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the admission offer.
Self-attested copy of the birth certificate
- Residence address proof (Aadhar Card/Passport/Electricity Bill/Ration Card/Voter ID)
- Medical fitness certificate/vaccination card of the child
- School leaving certificate (Class I onwards)
- The latest report card from the previous school attended (Class I onwards)
- 6 passport-size photographs of the child and 2 passport-size photographs of both parents
Age Criteria:
- Admissions will strictly adhere to the age criteria as outlined below. No exceptions will be made under any circumstances.

- Children born on 1st April can also be considered.
Transport Facility:
- a. Parents are advised to check the availability of the transport facility before applying for admission.

- b. Parents should be cautious of third parties collecting money on behalf of the school and making false claims about securing admission.
